The last remaining part of the 14th century Upper Castle in Vilnius, Gediminas' Tower was substantially rebuilt in 1933. According to legend, Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas spent the night on the hill during a hunt and dreamt that this was where he should build his magnificent new capital city.
